Conveyors

Conveyor hazards vary due to the materials being handled, the location of the conveyor, and the proximity of the conveyer to workers. Conveyors eliminate or reduce manual material handling tasks, but they can introduce caught-in, crushed-by, struck-by, and amputation hazards associated with mechanical motion. This safety topic reviews the hazards of conveyors, the importance of machine guarding, types of secondary safeguarding methods, and the purpose of the emergency stop feature.
