Lyme Disease, Industry

One of the most common tick-borne diseases in the U.S., Lyme Disease is caused by a bacteria that is transmitted to humans through the bite of an infected blacklegged tick. Outdoor workers have an increased risk of contact with ticks especially if the job takes them into wooded areas, near high grass, or around leaf litter. This safety topic covers health risks and work precautions for all outdoor personnel, but especially those who may be in an at-risk area for Lyme disease.
