Powder-Actuated Tools, Industry

Because of their power and speed, powder-actuated tools can be highly effective, and even increase productivity, when used safely and according to the manufacturer’s specifications. A powder-actuated tool operates like a loaded gun by using a small, controlled explosion of a chemical propellant charge to drive a specialized fastener into a solid base material. Operating powder-actuated tools in the work area introduces several safety hazards and all workers must be trained on the risks.
